Phoenix Martial Arts began raising money for charities in the mid 1980’s and at our first event Steve Brooks fought 101 Black belts to raise money for the children’s charity Barnardo’s, this was our first event and raised a £1000.
This was only the start! Since then, we went on to raise tens of thousands for various charities including BBC, Children in Need, Comic Relief and many more. In the last 25 years we have been concentrating on one specific charity which is the Royal Marston cancer hospital, based in Sutton in Surrey.
Up to today we have donated over £250,000 and we haven’t finished yet! We feel it is such a worthy cause, the Royal Marsden provides world-leading care & Cancer treatment to so many people.
